In 1998, The Ten Tenors teamed up with what is now Dmand. Today, The Ten Tenors are veterans of a hectic international touring schedule, having sold-out thousands of headlining shows throughout Australia, Europe, Asia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA. They have performed to more than 78 million television viewers and have sold in excess of one million records in over 25 countries worldwide.

After forming in 1995, The Ten Tenors approached Dmand regarding management to see if their concept could be developed into a full show and toured commercially. We said yes and collectively put together the first album and first short tour. Since then, there have been dozens of career highlights including Dmand negotiating the group s first European tour in 2002. There, The Ten Tenors performed at the Eurovision Grand Prix in Keil, Germany to a crowd of 15,000 and a further 28 million live viewers.

A three album deal with Universal Music quickly followed, with Warner Music and the establishment of European promoter partners soon after. Dmand further created a US presence with touring agents and a national PBS television special broadcast airing to millions of viewers which led to a deal with Rhino. The television special has now been broadcast by a further 150 of PBS  networks around the world.

The success of The Ten Tenors is ongoing, with increasing record sales and hundreds of thousands of annual concert ticket sales internationally. The Ten Tenors continue to tour throughout the globe each year, creating headlines and amassing new followers the world over.

The Disables formed in 1998 when singer guitarist, Jud Redundant, realized that he did not want to pursue someone else's corporate dream. So, he dropped out of university to form The Disables and share his view of what the world was becoming through his lyrics and love for rock'n'roll music.

Established artist

dmand's definition of an established artist:
A talented artist with an established fan base, a solid performance history, and preferably at least one album with growing sales. Or in the case of non-music activity, some history of commercial appreciation for your idea.

For dmand to take on an established artist, it needs to be clear that there is a growing market for the artists' product, and that the product has a 'story' that is appealing to a definable target market.

Talented artist who's just starting out

For talented artists, just starting out.....

dmand is always looking out for new talent to work with, but like everything else in life the rules here are tough. We encourage you to send us your demos but you must understand and accept that if they are sent to us unsolicited it will take longer for us to get to them. We will listen to everything eventually, but we won't necessarily get back to you so please don't hassle us the day after you send the demo. In fact, don't hassle us at all; this is not the place where the squeaky wheel gets the attention. If you know someone that is in a position to endorse your work, that will fast track the process. Here are a couple of tips when preparing your demo. These are tips for music demo's.

• Only send your best three songs, with the absolute best song first. We may only listen to one so don't blow it. If we like it we will contact you and ask for more.
• Include a picture; it must be recent and representative of you or your group.
• Include a bio, history, or angle on the act. Make sure it is no longer than one page in a 12 point font. Shorter is always better.

If your thing is not writing songs, then apply the same kind of principals to your artistic endeavor. Put simply, always pitch your best idea first because what you want to do is get our attention. Once you have achieved that we will figure it out from there.

Here are a few tips.

1. If you send dmand an unsolicited demo, quite frankly, it could take ages for it to get heard. It will get heard eventually but if it doesn't grab us in some way in the first 30 seconds then it will be gooooone..... You probably think yours is different, but why would you want your great demo to be thrown in the pile with the crap ones?
2. Develop an act. Just being a great musician isn't enough.
3. Perform as much as possible. Contact an agent (dmand is NOT a booking agency - look one up in the phone book) and ask them how to get as many bookings as you can. Don't just stop at this, get off your own arse and find a way to make the people you think should like your product see it. Use your imagination...it's a powerful tool, and in a lot of cases, underutilised one.
4. Write your own material or have someone else write original material with you or for you. There are thousands of cover bands and unless you've found some incredible angle for your act, dmand won't be interested.
5. Record your own album and find a way to sell it. It's amazing what you can do with your own PC, and if you can show you can sell some CD's without management or a record label behind you, this will go a long way to convincing dmand you've moved to category two.

Long shot project

If you're not sure if you fit into category one, then you probably don't. Let's face it, if you've ever watched Australian Idol, Pop Stars etc, the majority of people will actually fall into the third category. A word of advice - your mother is not the best judge of your actual talent. If you are having trouble getting any sort of outlet for your idea, then you probably belong to category three, so please click here.

So that should just leave category two artists. Now your reality check - talent isn't always enough. You need to move closer to a category one before we'll buy you lunch, and this is not an easy task. Click here to find out more.

Dmand supply is an online business that was set up in 2004, offering retail sales of our artists CD’s and merchandise. This has proved to be a huge success with an average of 77,000 hits per month, and shipment to every country worldwide. We currently sell over twenty products on the site and expect future growth as more clients and external artists add their catalogue to our site.

Accounts Services
